Samsung’s new Galaxy Watches will arrive sooner than expected, here’s everything we know.
About 6 months after the Galaxy Watch 3 arrived on the market, Samsung seems ready to anticipate the launch of the new models. In particular, the well-known leaker Ice Universe talks about Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4, the brand would therefore have chosen to skip the Active 3 to match the numbering of its smartwatches.
The two new wearables will arrive during the second quarter of 2021 (Q2), a time window that runs from 1 April to 30 June. According to the latest rumors, two versions of different sizes are expected for both models, with the addition of new colors and straps.
Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 could introduce an innovative system for measuring blood glucose levels, in addition to the heart rate sensor with ECG support and the SpO2 standard to know the levels of oxygen in the blood.
Galaxy Watch 4: TizenOS or WearOS:
A few weeks ago the same leaker @UniverseIce had predicted the launch of a Galaxy Watch with WatchOS, the Android operating system for wearable devices. A few days later a developer discovered a device with the code name “Merlot” by analyzing the kernel of the Galaxy S20, the new device was associated with WatchOS instead of Tizen, a system that has been present on Samsung’s Watches for years.
Consequently, the Korean manufacturer may have decided to present one of the new Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 with Android on board, making two operating systems coexist within the same ecosystem.
We just have to wait a few more months for the arrival of the new Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4, curious to know the future of Tizen on the smart watches of the Korean giant.
