SAMSUNG: THE NEW 8K QLED TV RANGE IS COMING

At the EU Forum 2020, Samsung unveiled the new line-up of QLED TVs and audio devices. 8K resolution televisions and new soundbars are coming, ready to upset this 2020.

Samsung has unveiled at the Samsung Forum 2020, the new line-up of TVs and audio devices with 8K resolution. Among the models stand out: Q950 QLED 8K TV, the new QLED 8K and 4K TVs, the innovative MicroLEDs, the iconic Lifestyle TVs and the new sound bars.

The 8K range:

After introducing the brand new Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, capable of recording video in 8K, the company is now introducing new QLED televisions capable of handling such a demanding resolution. The Q960T, the flagship of Samsung’s QLED 8K TV range, offers an unprecedented home entertainment experience: coming in sizes of 65.75 and 85 inches, it is the first 8K TV. In addition, image quality is supported by the new generation Quantum 8K processor, artificial intelligence system and new smart features

The frame leaves room for an immersive display, called Infinity Screen, which covers up to 99% of the TV panel. The thickness is limited to only 15 mm and integrates a multi-channel audio system to reproduce sound in 4.2.2. creating a true three-dimensional effect.
In addition to the Q950T, Samsung also presented the Q900T and Q800T models, thus expanding the range of QLED 8K TVs. With an offer ranging from 55 to 98 inches, Samsung 8K TVs are able to meet all possible technology and space requirements.

The 4K range:

The QLED 4K TVs, on the other hand, were presented in two denominations (one from 43 and one from 85) in five different models: Q60T, Q70T, Q80T, Q90T and Q95T.

“We are in the new era of smart displays and this year the demand for TV customization will be even greater,” said Bruno Marnati, Head of Audio Video at Samsung Electronics Italia. “Our TV and audio range for 2020 is the widest, the smartest and the most engaging, able to satisfy, without compromise, the different needs and different lifestyles”.
Samsung’s new TVs are equipped with AI features called “Smart screens”:

  • Quantum Dot AI combines the 8K content processor with the Tizen platform capable of upscaling any content.
  • Adaptive Picture, analyzes the ambient light conditions and the contents visible on the screen to ensure perfect vision and image quality
  • Active Voice Amplifier eliminates background noise, automatically recognizing these interruptions and adjusting the volume of the transmitted content voice accordingly.
  • Objecting Tracking Sound + (OTS +) creates a three-dimensional sound effect through an OTS proprietary AI system.
  • Q-Symphony is a unique multi-speaker implementation. For the first time ever, 2020 QLED TVs will be able to keep the top and side speakers active when connecting a Samsung Q series soundbar to deliver richer, fuller surround sound.

Samsung’s new 2020 Audio range:

Samsung also announced the range of soundbars; The Q series (made up of Q800T, Q70T and Q60T) stands out in the Audio 2020 line-up, which guarantees complete synergy with QLED TVs. Thanks to Samsung’s Acoustic Beam technology and the integrated object-based audio of Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, the Q Series allows the viewer to enjoy a captivating entertainment experience as if it were part of the on-screen action.

Samsung has also continued to develop new partnerships with major content providers: Disney + will begin its rollout in Europe and will be available on Samsung TVs starting March 24.

New frontiers for TV:

The new Samsung TVs offer the possibility to interact also through voice control. Bixby, in fact, is present in the TV and can also be controlled by other smart speakers such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
For those who use other devices while watching TV, Multi-View is also available which allows you to bring your mobile device to a larger screen alongside the content played on the TV. The Tap View, on the other hand, makes it easier to connect smartphones to the TV by allowing the mirroring of the phone screen to the TV by simply touching the two devices together.
